ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL READY

The High School Ready Program is more than an academic enrichment experience—it’s a supportive community designed to help Philadelphia middle school students build the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to thrive in high school and beyond.

Students spend their summer learning alongside motivated peers who are eager to grow, explore new ideas, and make lasting friendships. Guided by dedicated college student instructors and mentors, scholars strengthen their academic foundations while gaining exposure to new subjects, career possibilities, and educational opportunities they may not encounter in a traditional classroom setting.

Throughout the program, students participate in engaging classes, hands-on projects, field trips, guest speaker presentations, and unique elective courses that encourage curiosity, leadership, and personal growth. The program also provides valuable guidance through the high school admissions and selection process, helping students and families make informed decisions about their educational future.

As scholars continue through the program year, they benefit from ongoing academic support, enrichment opportunities, and mentorship from near-peer role models who have successfully navigated similar educational journeys. Students may also have the opportunity to apply for advanced experiences, including a research course in Costa Rica, expanding their global perspective and academic horizons.

Eligibility

• Current middle school students attending Philadelphia public, charter, or parochial schools
   

Program Schedule

• Summer Program (June–August): Monday–Friday for 6 weeks, 9:00 AM–3:30 PM

• School Year Program (September–May): Saturdays, 10:00 AM–2:00 PM
