High School Ready Program Showcase Projects On Community Change and Civic Imagination
In conjunction with advisors and graduate students from DesignPhiladelphia and the University of Pennsylvania's Weitzman School of Design our Scholars completed an immersive, hands-on design course which culiminated in a public exhibition of their work. Part of Philadelphia's 250th anniversary celebrations, this inaugural project introduced Breakthrough Scholars to design thinking as a powerful tool for civic imagination and community change. Scholars stepped into the role of designers and changemakers - and learned that their voices, perspectives, and creativity matter in building a more just and joyful future for all.
